Ecological Consultancy Data Services

We offer comprehensive data analytics to process and visualise spatial datasets and protected species surveys for spatial conservation planning projects and ecological consultancy reports.

Biodiversity Data Searches

We collate existing biodiversity and habitat data for ecological reports and summarise key findings in a single report with relevant technical documentation, maps, and files.

Bespoke options available. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

GIS & Spatial Analytics

  • Habitat maps and visualisation of species data
  • Species occupancy and distribution maps
  • Analysis of spatial patterns and environmental change
  • Satellite and aerial data to support monitoring
  • Preparation of spatial data for analysis and reporting

All spatial analytics include:

Initial consultation, data cleaning and collation, relevant figures, maps, tables, presentations and/or dashboards, a technical report documenting data inputs, processing and assumptions, in-kind time for revisions (if required).

Survey Analytics Packages

We process and analyse data collected through protected species surveys.

  • Bat surveys
EMT2/static detectors, activity charts, maps and tables
  • Bird surveys
BBS, point counts, tables and maps
  • Great crested newt and other amphibian surveys
Pond surveys, eDNA, occupancy probability, distribution maps
  • Reptile surveys
Visual search and refugia surveys, species counts, occupancy probability, relative abundance, distribution maps
  • Badger, dormouse, otter, water vole and other mammals surveys
Camera traps, nest boxes, field signs, activity maps and tables

All survey analytics packages include:

Initial consultation, data cleaning and collation, relevant figures, maps and tables ready for reports, presentations and/or dashboards, optional statistical summaries, technical report documenting findings, data inputs, assumptions and limitations, in-kind time for revisions (if required).

Reptile Surveys

The UK has six native reptiles; four are widespread and occupy a range of habitats (common lizard, slow‑worm, grass snake, adder), while two species are much rarer with restricted distributions (smooth snake, sand lizard). Reptile populations in the UK have declined over recent decades, largely due to habitat loss and degradation. All species are legally protected.

We have substantial experience carrying out surveys for the four widespread species — common lizard, slow‑worm, grass snake and adder — and can provide targeted surveys, analytics, and reporting to support consultancy projects.
